Inspired by the real Kaptajnen at Hillerød Mini Zoo and created as a mother-and-son project with a wish to give something back.

From a special encounter to a shared mission
When our Brazilian family found a home in Denmark, the local places and people around us became an important part of our new story. Hillerød Mini Zoo became one of the places where we could be curious together, meet the animals up close and create memories as a family.
The real Kaptajnen was the first animal we were invited to meet up close when we discovered the Mini Zoo. His bold colours, lively personality and connection to our Brazilian roots made that encounter special. He felt like a little bridge between where we come from and Hillerød — the place we now call home.
Kaptajnen therefore became a very special mother-and-son project for Björn and me. We developed the figure together with the goal of giving something back to a place we care about. When I was younger in Brazil, I spent a lot of time volunteering, and working with children and animals has always been important to me. Creating Kaptajnen with Björn is a wonderful way to pass that value on to him: caring for and contributing to the community around us.
DESIGNED AND MADE BY US
From our idea to his new home
Kaptajnen was modelled, designed and digitally painted by us. We then 3D-print him in small batches in our own home, and every single figure is carefully checked before leaving the workshop.

A figure with a purpose
Kaptajnen was meant to be more than a figure. He should also give something back to the place that inspired him. That is why we donate 50% of every Kaptajnen sale to Hillerød Mini Zoo. Whenever Kaptajnen finds a new home, both his story and the support for the Mini Zoo grow.
